About the Event

Rai School of Sciences, Rai university had successfully inaugurated a 6-Days Virtual Faculty Development Programme on “Environmental Management for Sustainable Development”, scheduled from January 29th to February 3rd, 2024. Dr. Pradeepkumar Singh, HoD, Rai School of Sciences, took the initiative for organizing the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) with the support of Prof. (Dr). Anil Tomar, Provost, and Prof. (Dr.) Brijendrasinh Yadav, Registrar, at Rai University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Dr. Brijendra Singh Yadav, Registrar, Rai University, led the inaugural session, expressing a commitment to empower faculty and participants with advanced knowledge and practices in sustainable environmental management. During his address, highlighted the importance of addressing current environmental challenges and the pivotal role faculty members play in leading the way towards a sustainable future.

A series of enlightening lectures addressed urgent environmental concerns. Dr. Dharmesh Sur of Marwadi University began by discussing the basic and current needs of the green environment. The second day featured Prof. Shailesh R. Dave on biohydrometallurgy and Dr. R.C. Upadhyay on mushroom cultivation for waste recycling. Day 3 delved into solutions like Dr. Devayani Tipre's microbial e-waste treatment and Dr. Gopal Kalambe's sustainable healthcare practices. Dr. Edwin Pithawala led discussions on adapting biotechnology for climate change on Day 4. Day 5 saw Prof. Sheetal Bhasin's insights on sustainable development and Dr. Shweta Agrawal's analytical bioremediation approaches. Finally, Dr. Ronak Chhaya emphasized the importance of preserving tomorrow through sustainable practices, concluding the series on environmental stewardship.

The program drew participation from more than sixty individuals from various corners of India. The overall FDP session was well coordinated by Dr. Shital Thacker, Assistant Professor, Rai University. The program concluded with a valedictory speech by Mr. Veerendra Singh Nagoria, COE, Rai University. Participants' positive feedback during the closing ceremony not only signaled the end of a great program but also reinforced Rai University's dedication to building a community focused on environmental sustainability. As Rai University continues to lead the way in progressive education, this Faculty Development Programme stands as a testament to the University's dedication to creating a sustainable and eco-conscious academic community.
