Objective of Constitution Day Celebration

• To commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution on November 26, 1949, and acknowledge its significance as the cornerstone of the nation’s governance and democracy.

• To educate citizens, particularly students and youth, about the values, principles, and provisions enshrined in the Constitution.

• To encourage citizens to understand their fundamental rights and duties, fostering a sense of accountability and active participation in nation-building.

• To reaffirm India’s commitment to democracy, justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity, as envisioned by the Constitution’s framers.

Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Diwas, is celebrated annually on November 26 to honor the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949. The 2024 celebration aims to instill a deeper understanding of the Constitution’s significance in shaping India’s democratic framework. The event brings together students, legal scholars, educators, and citizens to reflect on the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Preamble.

The Constitution Day Celebration, 2024, was organized with great enthusiasm and reverence on November 26 at Rai University. The event, aimed at honoring the adoption of the Indian Constitution and promoting its values, witnessed the active participation of students, faculty members, and distinguished guests. The program commenced with the welcoming of the esteemed guest , Mr. Dinesh Kumar Mishra, whose presence added grace to the occasion. Following the warm welcome, the auspicious ceremony of lighting the lamp was conducted, accompanied by the soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of the goddess of wisdom and knowledge.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ausaf Ahmad Malik, Principal and Professor at the School of Law, Rai University. Dr. Malik eloquently emphasized the significance of the Constitution as the guiding force behind India’s democratic framework and urged the audience to uphold its principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. The event further featured an inspiring address by Dr. Anil Tomar, Provost of Rai University, who highlighted the relevance of constitutional values in addressing contemporary challenges and fostering national unity.

A poignant moment of the celebration was the Reading of the Preamble and Oath-Taking Ceremony, led by Ms. Prachi Tripathi.
