Department of International Affairs- Professors from University of Pardubice, Czech Republic visited Rai University, Ahmedabad under Staff mobility for teaching programme of Erasmus+ between 12th Feb. to 24th Feb.’19
For Faculty mobility and Student exchange programme, Rai University, Ahmedabad has signed an MOU with University of Pardubice, Czech Republic. Based on the healthy relationship between the Universities, only Rai University from India has been selected for mobility scheme under prominent Erasmus+ programme at University of Pardubice, Czech Republic.
Erasmus (EuRopean Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) is a European Union (EU) student exchange programme established in 1987. Erasmus+ is the new programme combining all the EU’s current schemes for education, training, youth and sport, which had started in January 2014. It provides grants for a wide range of actions including the opportunity for students to undertake work placements abroad and for teachers and education staff to attend training courses. Erasmus+ key action 1 provides unique opportunity for teachers, headmasters, trainers and other staff of education institutions to participate in international training courses in different European countries. Objectives of the mobility are sharing and learning teaching pedagogy, course outlines, education system between both the Universities. Enhancing healthy relationship between both of the Universities, to exchange and upgrade research, teaching, publication, cultural and intellectual aspects is the chief motive.
Dr. Bohdan Linda (Professor, Department of Mathematics and Quantitative Methods) and Dr. Miloslav Hub (Associate Professor, Institute of System Engineering and Informatics) from Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Pardubice, Czech Republic have visited Rai University from 12th Feb. to 24th Feb. 2019 under Erasmus+ teaching mobility.
As per the Indian tradition, guests were welcomed by students with flower, Tilak and Dipak in the University campus. After the warm welcome, the meeting was arranged with Prof. Ashish Rami (Director, CRD) and Prof. Veerendra Nagoria (Dy. Registrar-Academics). The discussion was held on the latest education system, courses, and research studies of both of the universities. Meeting was followed by campus tour for guests.
On 13th February, there was a meeting arranged with the Directors and HoDs. Student and staff mobility programs, fellowship for doctorate programmes were discussed in the meeting
On 14th February, lecture on overall objectives of the mobility was delivered by Dr. Miloslav to Computer Science and IT students. At the same time lecture on research methodology was delivered by Dr.Bohdan to the students of management discipline. In both the lectures they got latest knowledge about Indian education, how to overcome difference of regions and languages and establishment of professional contacts in the era of digitalization.
On 15th February lecture on ‘Data Security Area’ was delivered with a brief presentation about the University of Pardubice by Dr. Miloslav. At the same time, lecture on statistics and operation research was delivered by Dr. Bohdan to Management students. A traditional function had been organised by students of Rai University in afternoon. They also experienced the traditional ‘Garba’ along with the students and faculties on Traditional Day.
Students have given various performances such as flute, dance, singing etc. Afterwards they interacted with Rai University staff and exchanged their expertise on research methods and teaching techniques. They explored surrounding villages to get the idea of Indian Economy and the rural culture in evening.
On 16th February, there were special sessions for research scholars on the scope of research, importance of research methodology, usage of statistical and IT tools in research.
The Sunday was started with the experience of Heritage Walk of Ahmedabad. They visited heritage and historical monuments of Ahmedabad, including Swaminarayan Temple, Sabarmati Ashram, Bhadra Fort, Jama Masjid, Riverfront, Flower garden, Mahatma Mandir, Dandi Kutir, Adalaj Stepwell. They enjoyed delicious and tasty local street food i.e Ganthiya, Jalebi, Khaman with chilli and chatni.
On 18th February, the expert lecture was delivered by Dr. Bohdan Linda on ‘The basic and advanced statistical methods’. The expert lecture was given by Dr. Miloslav Hub on ‘Authentication of smart cards and passwords, Biometric Authentication and Cryptography for students. On 19th February, the expert lecture, to the faculties, was delivered by Dr. Miloslav Hub on ‘Cooperation within the teaching and research activities’.
On 20th February, lecture was delivered by Dr. Miloslav Hub regarding the importance of information technology and the usage of it in today’s world. On the same day Dr. Bohdan Linda presented his thoughts on Inventory & Project Management.
In afternoon, a session to the faculties was scheduled on ‘Advanced Statistical methods in research’ by Dr. Bohdan Linda.
They bid good bye after ten days of stay at RU campus. They delivered their knowledge of advanced IT techniques for teaching and advanced statistical methods in research. The faculties of Rai University also got benefitted from the special sessions by the foreign delegates on advance learning techniques. Their contribution in International Conference was remarkable. They tasted Indian cuisine during their stay and captured India in their lenses, explored different culture and experienced Indian traditions.
