Youth Parliament 2024: Voices of Tomorrow on the Occasion of International Youth Day on 12th August, 2024

Objective:

1. In order to create a set of youngsters who have an idea of the parliament, the best way is to make them sit in that environment.

2. It is a platform to discuss the national issue on a large scale in a proper forum and in front of the experienced moderators.

3. It brings the like-minded youngsters on the same platform and offers a chance for the creation of a community to discuss and come up with the possible solutions

Benefits

• Political Enrichment: Participants will gain valuable insights into the parliament session , understanding the challenges and successes encountered during the budegts and bill discussion . This knowledge will enhance their appreciation of youth in parliament .

• Healthy habits of discipline : Students built healthy habit of listening to different members of the parliament house ,making proper decorum in the parliament house .

• Respects the opinion : participants respect each others opinion , listening to others opinion help them to know about the both the side of the topic .

• Enabling the student community to familiarize themselves with the working of Parliament

About the Event:

The event "Youth Parliament " is organized to create a forum where various students of the college can interact and debate upon various political and social issues and strives to create a path to the solution for the same. To expose the youth to politics, dialogue and democracy and provide them a platform to understand and serve the society.

Highlights of the Workshop:

1. Event Start (09:30-09:31)
All the members came to the house of parliament and took their respective seats.

2. Introduction of event by coordinators (09:32-09:35)
The coordinators introduced the house with the concept of Youth parliament, purpose of the house,benefits of the Youth parliament ,rule and regulations in the house , flow of the house

3. House opening by speaker (09:36-09:40)
The student speaker of the parliament addressed the parliament house and
started the session .

4. Oath taking of ministers (09:41-09:42)
All the ministers took oath on the instruction of the speaker and the bill session began with that .

5. Speech by different ministers (09:45-11:00)

The ruling party minister spoke about their bills , then the opposition minister put points against the bill and the problems faced by the people of the country , then the assigned minster debated on the points put by opposition .

Then the speaker did voting for the bill , those bills which got majority votes they were passed in the parliament and those bills which were not passed in house are sent back for modification

Then the leader of opposition put a speech on the various topics that were spoke in house and question the ruling party about the bills

Then the prime minister gave speech and answered the question of opposition

6. House closing speech (11:01-11:05).

The speaker of the house addressed the house and closed the parliament session

7. Speech by Dean (11:06-11:15)

Dr. Sailesh Iyer Dean of RSE gave a speech to all the participants and motivated them to participate in different such type of programs

8. National anthem (11:16-11:18)
