5-Days Virtual Faculty Development Programme on 26th-30th December 2023
The School of Pharmacy at Rai University, Ahmedabad, in collaboration with APTI-GSB, successfully organized a comprehensive 5-day virtual Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from 26th to 30th December 2023, titled “AI 4 Pharmacy: Improving Pharma Practice through Artificial Intelligence.” The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Tejal Gandhi, Principal of Anand Pharmacy College and President of APTI-GSB. Dr. Gandhi highlighted the significance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Pharmacy, specifically its role in enhancing pharmaceutical practices.
The inaugural day featured Dr. Maulik D. Vaja, Associate Professor at SIPS, Gandhinagar, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Vaja eloquently discussed the application of AI in Genetic Analysis and Precision Medicine Services, emphasizing its potential to identify patient phenotypes with unique healthcare needs. The second day’s main speaker, Dr. Pragnesh Patni, Principal & Professor, delved into the realm of AI-Powered Revolution, focusing on its transformative impact on Drug Discovery. The third day saw an inspirational talk by Dr. Palak A. Shah, Associate Professor at KBIPER, Gandhinagar, who centered her discussion on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Theranostics. On the fourth day, Dr. V. R. Ravikkumar, Professor & Head at The Erode College of Pharmacy, Tamil Nadu, provided a detailed account of a Systematic Review on Pharmacognosy with Artificial Intelligence.
The concluding day featured Dr. Parag Kulkarni, Principal and Professor at Shastri Institute of Pharmacy, Erandol, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, who shed light on the practical applications of AI in Pharmacy. The Valedictory Function was graced by Guest of Honour Dr. Ankit Chaudhary, Principal of Saraswati Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dhanap, Gandhinagar. The event garnered enthusiastic participation from 100 attendees who actively engaged in Q&A sessions with the speakers each day, finding the program challenging yet enjoyable.
The seminar aims to heighten awareness of Artificial Intelligence’s crucial role in Pharmacy. It provides a platform for interaction among experts, fostering knowledge exchange. Renowned speakers will address the latest developments, inspiring active participation and paper presentations from students, young scientists, and faculty. The goal is to advance discussions on AI in the pharmaceutical domain. The concluding remarks were made by Dr. Sanjesh G. Rathi, Principal of the School of Pharmacy at Rai University, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, speakers, and participants for their untiring commitment to the five-day learning program. The FDP successfully provided a platform for robust discussions and knowledge exchange, contributing to the advancement of AI in the field of Pharmacy.
