Academic Visit To “Startup Expo Gujarat at Vigyan Bhavan Science city Gujarat” on 02nd September, 2023
Objective:
✥ Startup Expo aims to bring together and provide a platform to the best startups who have good potential and also to inspire the audience
✥ To attain practical knowledge or experience other than academic curriculum.
✥ The purpose of this academic visit was to provide an excellent opportunity to all the students & faculties, to interact and know more about to showcase innovative small businesses and to connect these startups with resources that enable their ability to scale, grow, and thrive.
✥ The objective of the visit is to amplify public awareness for the commercialization of critical innovation necessary for our continued competitiveness in the global marketplace, and for the entrepreneurship that creates jobs and drives forward our country.
✥ To facilitate the startups to showcase their products & services in front of angel investors, venture capitalists, government officials, and renowned industrialists and also allow the startups to get validation from the attendees attending the expo.
Benefits of attending academic visit:
✥ The expo helps to generate relevant connections and partnership. The exhibition had a superb arrangement for investor interaction.
✥ The startups were also features to speakers, who were founders Mr. Ashneer Grover (Founder Bharat Pe, Shark Tank India) of the well-known brands from the Indian startup world and there was a lot to be taken away from their experience.
✥ To take inspiration from the successful enterpurners and also know about his life story to make the startup ideas one of most fine centre in India.

About the Visit:
Currently, the biggest and the best Work In Progress in India is the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Apart from the government and the entrepreneurs themselves, there are a few other contributors who are giving their best to make India a land of innovation and entrepreneurship. Exposure to real life industries and a brief look towards other than syllabus topics are one of the key elements implicitly emphasized in the Program Outcomes (PO) for all students. Rai University always believes in linking student’s classroom learning experience with actual exposure and applicability in real life environment.
We had started our journey as per scheduled time of 09:30 on 02nd September 2023, with students from Rai School of Sciences (RSS), Rai School of Management studies (RSMS), School of Pharmacy (SOP) & Rai School of Engineering (RSE). Undertaking form for academic visit were collected from all participants. All precautionary measures and attendance of students were noted before journey starts. Dr. Dhanya J S, gives all participants a brief inputs regarding visit and its main purpose of visiting.
Participants were so excited to visit startup expo. In any startup exhibition, one get to witness promoters of young business ventures increasing the reach of their idea, their brand, and the backbone technology behind their venture. The exhibiting startups have an allotted space called booth/stall. It's only their passion that gives the entrepreneurs all the energy to stand throughout the day, keep interacting with people to make them aware about their offerings. Answer a lot of queries related to venture, at the same time one can record a lot of observations from the response of the crowd which can be later worked upon to build a better product. Expos leaves one with a lot of leads. It provides an opportunity to meet potential customers, partners, as well as investors. Some of them also arrange for an investor zone. These expos are initiated and organized by people who are passionate about helping budding entrepreneurs find their way to success. These teams are among one of the enablers of the entrepreneurial ecosystems.
We were glad to visit the Start up Expo at Science City; first of all we completed all security checks at the entrance of the science city. The hardcopy of the detailed list of participants plus faculties were submitted at the entrance and corresponding entry tickets collected by Mr. Dhananjay Yaday (Rai School of Engineering) and Mr. Yuvaraj Singh Rathod (Rai School of Management Studies), group in-charge Dr. Dhanya J S (IPR cell, IIC, Assistant Professor, Rai University). After completing all gate entry procedures we proceed towards vigyan bhavan auditorium for inaugural session and QnA session with Mr. Ashneer Grover. This session lasted one hour an after that introductory session regarding exhibition was given as well as societal applications followed by a demonstration of interactive stalls exhibits. Students had a great time in the exhibition, they discussed about current trends of startups. An emphasize on the need to go beyond textbooks and imbibe the knowledge from all the spheres for the overall development of student. They encouraged and motivated students to take up challenges and put efforts to achieve excellence in their life with new ideas by making use of technology. After this all participants were guided a visit to all stalls and inputs were noted. Dr. Dhanya J S (IPR cell, IIC, Assistant Professor, Rai University), Mr.Yuvarajsingh Rathod (Rai School of management studies) and Mr. Dhananjay Yadav (Rai School of Engineering Studies, Rai University) were present at the talk and throughout the visit.
The day was productive with great enthusiasm by the students of Rai University. After the QnA session and stalls visit, participants have guided for interaction with other exhibitors and share their experiences. They emphasized the need to get practical skills and imbibe the knowledge from all the available sources for the overall development of society. The importance of why startups are important for upcoming years was a key token gained from this academic visit. They encouraged and motivated students to take up challenges and put efforts to achieve excellence in their life. Expo team has arranged food stalls outside, after lunch students were guided to return journey by filling feedback from.
More than 130 students participated in this visit. Students were shown their creative ideas and knowledge in person and cleared their doubts. Fresh ideas of students got the opportunity to in-person discussion and got suggestion in the occasion for further plans.
Highlights of the Visit:

✥ Students had great experience in the expo and gained many insignts fron talented individuals.
