Campus Placement Drive 2023-24: Bridging the Gap between Academia and Industry on 15th March 2024
The Campus Placement Drive held on 15th March 2024 at the School of Pharmacy, Rai University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, marked a significant milestone in bridging the gap between academia and industry. This report outlines the strategies, outcomes, and recommendations derived from the initiative. The placement drive aimed to attract distinguished companies, facilitate employment for graduating students, foster industry relationships, and gather feedback for process enhancement. Participation of seven prominent companies highlighted the collaborative efforts between academia and industry.
Preparation sessions equipped students with career guidance, resume building, and interview skills. Industry engagement initiatives like career fairs and employer presentations facilitated connections with potential employers. The placement cell provided personalized assistance, including resume review and interview scheduling, ensuring a smooth process. Attendance collection, recruiter detail documentation, and post-interview thank-you letters ensured efficient conduct.
The drive yielded commendable outcomes, with 09 students selected and 30 shortlisted across various companies. Noteworthy selections include Crystalvoxx Global LLP, Planet Health, DrCatalyst-Meditab Software Pvt. Ltd., Apollo Pharmacy, and Medscript. These outcomes underscore the efficacy of the placement process in providing employment opportunities for graduating students.
Challenges such as market competition and skill mismatch were encountered. Stiff competition in certain industries and regions hindered students' ability to secure preferred roles. Additionally, skill mismatch arising from outdated course curriculum posed challenges in applying knowledge to industry demands.
To address challenges, recommendations include curriculum updates to align with industry requirements, offering specialized training programs, and expanding industry partnerships. These steps aim to enhance students’ employability and diversify placement opportunities.
