Workshop on Campus to Corporate on 17th October 2023
Rai University in Ahmedabad organized a comprehensive workshop titled “Campus to Corporate” on October 17, 2023. The workshop, conducted by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Student Start up Innovation Policy (SSIP), aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills needed for a successful transition from campus life to the corporate world. The event saw active participation, with 118 students and 18 faculty members attending the workshop.
The workshop, held offline, featured an esteemed speaker, Ms. Naisargi Shah, Founder and CEO of the Indian Institute of Mind Evolution. Ms. Shah shared her corporate experiences and insights to prepare students mentally for the challenges they might face in their professional journey. The objective was to equip participants with the right knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for excelling in the corporate environment. The guest welcome was graciously conducted by Dr. Brijendra Singh Yadav, the Registrar of RU, setting a positive tone for the event. Dr. Sailesh Iyer, the Dean of the School of Engineering (RSE), added a symbolic touch to the occasion with a sapling presentation, emphasizing the university's commitment to sustainability and growth.
Key highlights of the workshop included understanding corporate culture, developing professional skills, building confidence, and emphasizing the importance of networking. The program delved into adaptability, goal setting, work-life balance, financial literacy, conflict resolution, continuous learning, mentorship, and corporate etiquette. Practical exercises and simulations were incorporated to allow participants to apply their learning in real-life scenarios.
By attending the workshop, participants gained valuable insights into various aspects crucial for a smooth transition, skill enhancement, and increased employability. The culmination of the workshop included a memorable moment as Dr. Sanjesh Rathi, the Principal of the School of Pharmacy (SOP), presented mementos, recognizing the efforts of the guest speaker and acknowledging the significance of the workshop. The formal vote of thanks was extended by Mr. Aditya Yadav, Assistant Professor at the Rai School of Engineering, expressing gratitude to all the contributors who made the event a success.
