Empowering Students with Essential Life Skills: A Three-Day Workshop on 2 to 4 May 2024

From May 2 to May 4, 2024, Rai University’s Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Student Startup Innovation Policy (SSIP) organized a three-day workshop titled “Life-Skills.” This offline event aimed to equip participants with essential life skills, attracting a significant number of students. The workshop encompassed interactive sessions, expert talks, and practical exercises, offering a holistic learning experience.

On the first day, the focus was on personal development and communication skills. Riddhesh Shukla led a session on self-awareness and personal growth, emphasizing the importance of self-reflection and goal setting. Activities included a self-assessment quiz and a goal-setting workshop. Sonal Rajyaguru conducted a session on effective communication, covering verbal and non-verbal techniques, active listening, and overcoming communication barriers. Participants engaged in role-playing exercises and group discussions, reporting increased self-awareness and improved communication skills.

The second day concentrated on time management and problem-solving skills. Sonal Rajyaguru discussed time management strategies, introducing techniques like the Pomodoro Technique and Eisenhower Matrix. Participants practiced time-tracking and task prioritization. Riddhesh Shukla addressed problem-solving and decision-making, guiding participants through the steps of the problem-solving process and effective decision-making techniques. Case studies and group challenges were used to enhance learning, resulting in participants gaining practical tools for managing their time and approaching problems systematically.

The final day focused on financial literacy and stress management. Sonal Rajyaguru taught the basics of personal finance, including budgeting, saving, and investing. Participants engaged in budgeting exercises and financial planning workshops. Stress management techniques were also covered, providing strategies for resilience and coping. Participants appreciated the practical activities, expressing intentions to incorporate these practices into their daily lives.

Overall, the workshop received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Participants valued the diverse topics, expert speakers, and interactive activities, highlighting the practical applicability of the skills learned. The comprehensive approach to life skills education inspired many to seek further workshops, marking the event as a resounding success.
