Report on Industrial Visit at Mehta Cad Cam Systems Pvt. Ltd. On 13th April 2022
Rai University Ahmedabad organized an industrial tour to Mehta Cad Cam Systems Pvt. Ltd., Kathvada, Ahmedabad, on 13th April 2022. The visit was planned for the students of Rai School of Management and School of Liberal studies accompanied by the faculties: Dr.Pooja Thakar and Prof. Rampal Singh. The students of B.Com(Hons.), BBA, B.A(Psychology)Hons., and MBA are the prime beneficiaries of the visit.
Established in the year 1989, Mehta Cad Cam Systems Pvt Ltd is one of the oldest and largest companies engaging in the field of CNC, Laser, and digital printing technologies in India. Mehta Cad Cam Systems Pvt Ltd provides the newest technologies that keep surfacing or trending in the current market from time to time. It’s not just the technologies but also the solutions/concepts which it constantly provides its customers. It helps them expand their business by catering to a complete array of machines, consumables, accessories, and related or allied technologies.
Mehta CAD-CAM system is having three Units in GIDC Kathwada Only. The visit of students started with the first Unit which is a headquarter of the Mehta CAD CAM group. During headquarter visit, student got to know about how administration and HR work to run the entire organization. Later, students visited the shop floor of the company, where they were acquainted with working with CNC Laser cutting machines, UV printers, CNC Machines, etc. Students learned about the assembly procedure of these machines over the shop floor. Second unit of the company is having much advanced and huge size machines required for job work and the making of machines mentioned in the above paragraph. This unit has CNC LASER cutting machines and CNC machines of huge size. Third Unit is a fabrication unit, having a large setup of welding machines, bending machines, and other machine tools required for fabrication. The welding shop was segregated into two parts, the first one is of arc welding and the second one is of MIG welding. This unit is also having CNC Bending machines to bend metallic sheets.
The visit's objective was to provide students with an insight into the internal working systems of companies. Industrial visits provide the students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods, and employment practices. It gives the students an exposure to current work practices as opposed to theoretical knowledge being taught at their college classrooms.
The outcome of visit is that students got so many new contents and real-life experiences with the industry, know the marketing strategies, area-wise marketing demand and be aware of the organizational culture. Students become aware of how a company works in business to the business market segment. A team member of Mehta Cad Cam Systems Pvt Ltd has introduced the company profile, its present manufacturing products, and marketing strategies. Students have solved their application-based queries. Students have observed various functions and products of the company such as CNC machines, laser machines, vinyl cutters, consumables, etc. Visit to Industrial Unit provided knowledge about important aspects of manufacturing of different machines, various departments, processes, etc.
