National Science Day – One Day Hands-on Workshop Science for Sustainable Future on 28th February, 2024
The National Science Day Workshop held on February 28, 2024, at Rai University, Ahmedabad, organized by the Rai School of Sciences in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), was a resounding success in promoting scientific awareness and fostering collaboration among students, faculty, and professionals. With the theme “Science for Sustainable Future,” the event aimed to showcase the relevance of science in addressing contemporary challenges and building a sustainable society.
The workshop attracted 75 students and 20 faculty members who actively participated in various activities throughout the day. The event’s objectives were multifaceted, aiming to promote scientific awareness, encourage innovation and research, facilitate knowledge exchange, foster critical thinking and communication skills, and recognize excellence in the field of science. The speaker, Dr. Gautam Borisagar, an Assistant Professor from IITRAM, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, who holds a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay, captivated the audience with his eloquent speeches.
The day commenced with an engaging hands-on workshop where participants immersed themselves in various scientific experiments and demonstrations. This interactive session provided practical insights into scientific principles and applications, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for science among attendees.
Following the workshop, participants showcased their research and innovative ideas through poster presentations. Covering a wide range of topics related to sustainability, the presentations provided a platform for students and researchers to exchange ideas and inspire others to pursue scientific inquiry for societal betterment.
The highlight of the event was the spirited debate competitions, where participants engaged in lively discussions on crucial scientific topics and contemporary issues. The event concluded with an award ceremony, where the winners of the poster presentations and debate competitions were recognized for their outstanding contributions. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to all participants, acknowledging their commitment to promoting scientific awareness and innovation.
