Pre-Janmashtami Celebration @ RU on 6th September 2023

The Reet Club of Rai University brought the essence of Janmashtami alive with a vibrant celebration that included traditional activities like Dahi Handi, Garba dance, and the added flair of participants donning Gopi and Gwala outfits. The event was a joyful amalgamation of culture and devotion.

The day began with the Dahi Handi competition, where teams enthusiastically formed human pyramids to break the suspended pot of yogurt. This symbolic act paid homage to Lord Krishna's mischievous nature as a child. The spirited participants, dressed in colorful Gopi and Gwala attire, added an authentic touch to the celebration.

After the Dahi Handi ritual, the campus reverberated with the rhythmic beats of the dhol as students, faculty, and staff engaged in Garba dance. Draped in traditional outfits, they swirled and twirled, showcasing their enthusiasm for the festival.

The Reet Club's Janmashtami celebration not only honored Lord Krishna's birth but also celebrated the rich tapestry of Indian culture. It was a day of cultural immersion, unity, and festivity that left lasting memories for all who participated.
