Seminar on: Leveraging Synergism: Industry- Academia Partnership for Implementation of National Education Policy – 2020 on 6th March, 2024
The National Pharmacy Education Day Celebration held on March 6, 2024, at Rai University, Ahmedabad, marked a pivotal moment in the advancement of pharmaceutical education, as academia and industry came together to explore the implementation of the National Education Policy, 2020. Organized by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Student Startup Innovation Policy (SSIP), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and the School of Pharmacy (SOP), the seminar aimed to promote excellence in pharmacy education and strengthen the synergy between academia and industry.
The seminar attracted significant participation, with 164 students and 23 faculty members engaging in insightful discussions and collaborations. The event focused on the theme "Leveraging Synergism: Industry-Academia Partnership for Implementation of National Education Policy, 2020," highlighting the collective role of academia and industry in realizing the objectives of the policy.
Distinguished speakers enriched the seminar with their valuable insights. Dr. Lakshamanbhai Dungarbhai Patel emphasized the importance of educators adapting to the changing educational landscape and integrating industry-relevant skills into the curriculum. Dr. Ujwalkumar Trivedi discussed the implications of the National Education Policy, 2020, for pharmacy education, emphasizing the alignment of educational objectives with industry demands. Mr. Makarand Kulkarni provided the industry perspective, stressing the significance of collaboration in bridging the gap between theory and practice.
The seminar also featured a lively panel discussion where experts from academia and industry exchanged ideas on fostering stronger ties between educational institutions and the pharmaceutical industry. Practical strategies for implementing collaborative initiatives, such as internships and collaborative research projects, were discussed, laying the groundwork for future collaborations.
