Report on Seminar on “Pedagogy & Assessment: A Futuristic Model Implementing NEP 2020” on 5th July 2024

The seminar titled "Pedagogy & Assessment: A Futuristic Model Implementing NEP 2020," held on July 5, 2024, focused on innovative educational strategies aligned with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The NEP aims to transform education by moving away from rote learning toward student-centric approaches that foster critical thinking, creativity, and experiential learning. The event featured keynote speaker Dr. G. G. Sastry, who discussed modern pedagogical trends emphasizing active learning, such as problem-solving and hands-on activities, while recognizing diverse learning styles: intuiting, sensing, feeling, and thinking.

Dr. Sastry advocated for practical experiences to enhance knowledge retention and introduced the concept of "phygital" classrooms, which integrate physical and digital learning environments. He underscored the importance of personalized learning, technology integration, and evolving assessment methods, while also reaffirming the enduring values of critical thinking and ethical understanding in education.
